Ict & Bpo
The information and communications technology (ICT) sector is the success story of the decade in Kenya. New information technologies are playing an increasingly important role in nearly all areas of the economy.
The installation of a broadband backbone connected to three under-sea fiber-optic cables (Seacom, TEAM System and EASSY) has significantly improved Kenya’s connectivity and its ICT prospects, be it in business-process outsourcing (BPO) or the development of IT-enabled services (ITeS).
The Government has identified ICT as a key enabler in attaining the goals and aspirations of Vision 2030, with the vision to transform Kenya into a knowledge and information-based economy.
