Dr. Kenneth Chelule, P.Eng, Tech, FIET, EBS - Chief Executive Officer

PROFILE SUMMARY

Dr. Kenneth Chelule holds a PhD and a MSc in Mechanical Engineering from Staffordshire University in the United Kingdom and an Executive MBA from Jomo Kenyatta University of Agriculture and Technology. 


He is an experienced professional with more than 20 years of expertise in industrial research, technology transfer and MSME support. He has previously held the positions of Director of Partnership, Strategy, Research, and Resource Mobilization and Chief Research Scientist and Deputy Director at the Kenya Industrial Research and Development Institute (KIRDI). He has also worked for Johnson & Johnson (UK), Summit Medical (UK), and the University of Leeds (UK). 


He is the accounting officer of the Authority and is responsible for communication and execution of the board’s strategy.

PROFILE SUMMARY

​Ms. Daisy Ajima holds a Bachelor of Law (LLB) and Master of Law, LLM (International Trade and Investment Law) degrees from University of Nairobi, and a Diploma in Law from the Kenya School of Law. She also holds CPA (Part II) and CPS (K).  She is an Advocate of the High Court of Kenya, Commissioner for Oaths, Notary Public, Registered CPS and a Certified Governance Auditor. She is a member of LSK and ICS.


She is responsible for providing board secretariat and legal services to the Authority. 

PROFILE SUMMARY

He is an experienced urban specialist and planner with a background in real estate, urban research, and infrastructure development. He has previously worked on various large-scale urban mixed-use developments, special planning designations, and research programs in East Africa, the US, and Israel among others.


He is responsible for implementing the Special Economic Zones infrastructure and programmes.

Mr. Victor Mageto holds a Bachelor of Commerce (Hons) Degree from the University of Nairobi. 


He is responsible for promoting and marketing Special Economic Zones, performing administrative services and administering “one-stop shops” in the Special Economic Zones.

Mr. Francis Gitau holds Bachelor of Arts (BA-Honour’s) and Master of Arts in Economics both from the University of Nairobi. 


He is responsible for undertaking surveillance on Special Economic Zones and ensure compliance to laid down standards, laws, and regulations.

CPA Benjamin Mutula holds a Master of Business Administration (Finance) from the University of Nairobi and a Bachelor of Arts (Economics and Business Studies) from Kenyatta University. He is a Certified Public Accountant of Kenya (CPA-K) and a member of the Institute of Certified Public Accountants of Kenya (ICPAK) in good standing.


He is responsible for efficient, effective and sustainable utilization of the Authority’s financial resources including budgeting, development and implementation of a financial management system, keeping proper books of accounts and timely financial reporting.

Mr. Shadrack C. Mwamuye holds a Master of Business Administration (Strategic Management) from Egerton University, a Bachelor of Business Management (HRM) from Moi University and a Higher Diploma (HRM). He is a Member of the Institute of Human Resource Management and the Kenya Institute of Management. He has over 15 years of experience in both private and public sectors.                            


He is responsible for ensuring that the Authority has the right and sufficient human resource to meet its objectives, providing guidance in the development, interpretation, implementation and review of human resource management and administration policies, standards, and guidelines.

PROFILE SUMMARY

Mr. Ibrahim Issack is an experienced professional with more than Fifteen (15) Years’ experience in trade, Investment, enterprise development and Finance having worked with various public and private organizations.

He holds a postgraduate degree in Master of Business Administration (Strategic Management) from Kenyatta University, a graduate degree in Business Administration (Accounting) from Kampala International University and currently finalizing his Certified Secretaries with KASNEB. 

Before Joining Special Economic Zones Authority, Ibrahim worked with Micro and Small Enterprises Authority as the Assistant Director Enterprise Development (Regional Head-Garissa,Wajir,Mandera), Mandera County Government as County Director Trade, Investments and Industrialization. He has also worked with Safaricom Ltd, Insight Management Consultants Ltd and Simba Telcom. Over the years he has facilitated Capacity building and training for Micro, Small and Medium Enterprises and youth empowerment with Islamic Relief, Save the children International, Kenya Red Cross and government agencies. 

He is responsible for reviewing SEZs License applications, and recommends granting of licenses to operate within Special Economic Zones

Mr. Kemboi holds a Master of Business Administration (Marketing and Management) from University of Eastern Africa Baraton, and a Bachelor of Business from Edith Cowan University, Australia.


He is responsible for strategizing and implementing plans to attract investments, promote the zone's advantages through effective marketingstrategies.

CPA Juliet Karori is an experienced Internal Auditor with over 15 years of experience in financial and systems auditing, internal controls and regulatory compliance. She has worked in various Kenya Government Ministries, such as Education, Roads, Energy, Petroleum, Mining and the National Treasury & Economic Planning- Internal Auditor General Department (IAGD).


She is responsible for providing assurance that governance, risk management, and control processes effectively drive the organization toward its objectives.

PROFILE SUMMARY

Mr. Okumu holds a Master of Business Administration from University of Nairobi, Bcom (Nrb), CIPS(UK), & MKISM. He has previously worked with Numerical Machining Complex Ltd, Kenya Medical Research Institute, University of Nairobi, and International Maritime Agency.


He is responsible for ensuring efficient and cost-effective procurement of goods, works, and services, strategic sourcing, contract management, and supplier relationship management.
