Virtual Event for SEZA Webportal launch
Kenya SEZ Authority Informational and Transactional Web Portal Launch
As one of the flagship projects under the Economic Pillar
of the Kenya Vision 2030, Special Economic Zones (SEZ) aims to boost
competitiveness, attract both local and foreign investments and expand and
diversify Kenya’s goods and services for domestic and export markets. To
support this, the designation of land as zones and licensing of developers,
operators and enterprises rests under the mandate of the Special Economic Zones
Authority, and now with the recently developed web portal, the request and
processing of these applications is made simpler, quicker and remote.
The Special Economic Zones Authority Web Portal is a critical tool through which users can easily find more information on the SEZ programme in Kenya, including information on existing zones in Kenya, access data on the financial and administrative incentives, and receive updates pertaining to SEZ developments. The portal also has a transactional component that will allow end-users to access various SEZ licences. This web portal will ensure Kenya runs a more efficient and effective SEZ Regime. The design of the informational and transaction portal was supported by the International Finance Corporation (IFC).
